Katie DiMizio - Matron of Honor
Katie and Kelly have been BFFs their entire lives (literally BABIES!). So, it was no wonder when it came time to pick a matron of honor (or "Queen of the Besties" as Katie prefers), Kelly turned to Katie, and Katie said she was already ten steps ahead of her, ready to start planning. Kelly is so excited to have Katie all the way in from Raleigh to stand by her side, where she's always been.
Brian Hyland - Best Man
Andy has long described his brother Brian as the best human, and so it's fitting that he serve as the best man. Six years younger than Andy, Brian is wise beyond his years and is fiercely loyal, always giving and never taking. Brian likes to say Andy meets someone he knows everywhere he goes, and there are days that feels true. If it is, Brian is the best man of all of them.
Jen McKinney - Bridesmaid
Kelly and Jen have been friends since middle school when Kelly moved back to the KC area after a short stint in SoCal. They quickly learned they had much in common- starting with their shared love of the Beatles. Friends often joked that they shared everything, including a brain. Kelly is delighted that Jen will be able to make the trip back from MD to join her!
Brian Schmid - Groomsman
Andy's oldest friend, Brian and Andy met in elementary school, where they enjoyed playing Command and Conquer over a dialup modem in Brian's parents' kitchen. From board games in high school to travel abroad and living together as adults, Brian has been there for Andy's ups and downs and has been consistent through it all.
Diana Edwin - Bridesmaid
One of the good things about moving to KC when she was 7, was that it brought Kelly closer to her cousin, Diana. Growing up near her cousin was wonderful and even better has been growing closer as adults. As an only child, Kelly considers Diana more of a sister these days and is thrilled to have her be part of the party (as well as her excellent DJ and dancing skills!)!
Adam Wade - Groomsman
The numbers to Andy's letters, Adam met Andy in college and formed a lasting connection over sports, life and all things slightly ridiculous. The two can talk for hours and hours and it's like they pick up right where they left it the time before. Adam made good on a trip to Wyoming and trips to both coasts, and has been an indispensable trusted and loyal friend for decades. Andy is hoping someday to send Adam a message on a potato through the U.S. Postal Service.
Adrienne Worstell - Bridesmaid
After college, Kelly moved back to KC where she grew closer to her cousin, Adrienne. They learned they had a TON in common and bonded over a shared love of concerts and country music. Kelly has so enjoyed how their friendship has evolved over the years and considers Adrienne, like Diana, more sister than cousin.
Eric Skoglund - Groomsman
A friend since junior high school, Andy noticed the "i" and the "c" in his first name blended into a "k" at the end. He's been Erk ever since. The two lived together in college, and have enjoyed a jaunt to baseball stadiums, Rail Bowls and much more. Andy still has the thank you card Eric wrote to him after his own wedding without his wife's knowledge.
Liz Ruback - Bridesmaid
Kelly has appreciated Liz' calming presence and thoughtful words of advice over 17 years of friendship. And while their flippy cup tourney and dancing days at Shark Bar may be over, Kelly loves how their friendship has matured, especially seeing Liz flourish as a mom. And who knows, one of these days, the two may just give up their day jobs and open up “The Best Sundae Ever” in Parkville after all!
Wyatt Naramore - Groomsman
The most recent friend of Andy's in the wedding party, Wyatt and Andy met in their 30s and enjoyed getting into all kinds of good trouble. When Wyatt and Kim first met Andy and his friends Brian and Lauren, the meeting was only supposed to last a couple of hours and instead stretched well into the next day. From buying a car to advising on rap music from the 1990s, Wyatt has been a hilarious and kind friend for more than 12 years.
Dan English - Bridesman
A staple in her life since meeting over 17 years ago, Dan was Kelly's intro to the fantastic group of friends she has now. He's biked in just about every MSAC Race to Nowhere, thrown Kelly bday parties at his house, and even helped put together her very heavy elliptical! When she started to think of who should round out the bridal party, only one name came to mind: Dan - the "official bridesman".
Kyle Greening - Groomsman
Andy and Kyle met in high school and have stayed in touch throughout their lives. The two have seen a lot. They didn't invent binge watching TV, but they were doing it about 20 years before it was cool. Everyone needs someone to call when they're up a creek, and Kyle has been that person for Andy. As with Kyle and his entire wedding party, Andy is grateful to have such good people to call friends for so long.
Mike Ekey - Officiant
Andy met Mike when they both worked for the paragraph factory at the Kansas City Star in the mid 2000s. The two of them were roommates in their 20s, and listened to maybe a little too much House of the Rising Sun (is there such a thing?) and tilted at bridges until they tilted back. A fellow man of words and big feels, Mike has since been able to meet and enjoy Kelly as well, and the couple thought he would be a great choice to help tell their story.
